CPIT Art & Design has partnered with the 2013 Christchurch
Arts Festival to bring colour to the city. CPIT students are
designing repeated pattern motifs in colours that evoke joy and
movement. The main project will be installed in September on the
Artboxes and in the Sumner Art window.
The project is named after Len Lye's animated short film from
1935, in which colours and shapes 'dance' to syncopated jazz music.
Lye, who is originally from Christchurch, went on to become an
international legend of kinetic art and abstract film. In turn his
