MOZART Sinfonia Concertante
MOZART Symphony No.40 in G minor
American conductor Andrew Grams conducts the New Zealand
Symphony Orchestra in this special Christchurch Arts Festival
concert, Magnificent Mozart.
Showcasing the rich complexity of emotions in Mozart's music,
the concert opens with the famous overture to his opera.
The Abduction from the Seraglio - a piece infused with
cheerfulness and exotic 'Turkish' sounds.
Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante is a sublime concerto for
violin and viola featuring NZSO Concertmaster Vesa-
and NZSO Section Principal Viola,
The concert ends with the very recognisable Symphony No. 40
G minor - appropriately nicknamed 'the Great'.
